Neemia Charity traces its origins to the profound influence of Nehemiah, the biblical figure renowned for reconstructing Jerusalem in the mid-fifth century BC. In Moldova, Victor Zama and his family responded to a different calling, founding Neemia Charity with a clear vision to uplift Cobani village and its surroundings.
Situated along the Prut Valley, Cobani faced hardships in the early 2010s — abandoned homes and pervasive poverty painted a stark picture. Witnessing the challenges from Chișinău, Victor Zama decided to support his native village, transforming empathy into immediate action.
In 2015, the Zamas relocated, establishing Neemia Charity. With a dedicated team of local volunteers and international partners, they aimed to bring tangible change to Cobani. The launch of the “Wings of Hope” community center in 2016 marked a turning point, serving as a central hub for vital social and educational services.
This transformative chapter in Neemia Charity’s history reflects a commitment to direct and meaningful impact. Through dedicated efforts in social, educational, spiritual, and economic support, the organization stands as a testament to resilience, compassion, and enduring positive change.
